Opposition Senator James Orengo (Siaya, ODM) on Friday tore into Garissa Township MP Aden Duale when he told him to stop being oversensitive in politics.
Orengo who was speaking in Tseikuru village in Mwingi during the burial of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's father the late Peter Mairu was responding to a remark by Duale in which the lawmaker had questioned Raila's argument that opposition National Super Alliance's journey to Canaan was thwarted by the presence of crocodiles in River Jordan.
Duale had said NASA was a coalition that could not win the August 8, 2017, general election and the 'River Jordan crocodiles' story is only meant to justify the coalition's defeat at the ballot against President Uhuru Kenyatta.
But when Orengo rose to speak, he told Duale to stop being afraid of the 'River Jordan crocodiles' narrative.
"Duale must be told that in politics, you cannot afford to be oversensitive. If you become oversensitive then you are in the wrong place," Orengo said amid laughter.
"In politics, we must tell our stories. If you have no story to tell then keep quiet. If anybody thinks he is the crocodile we are talking about, it is upon them."
The 'River Jordan crocodiles' story is synonymous with opposition leader Raila Odinga who claims that the journey by NASA leaders and their supporters to Canaan in Israel was halted after the group discovered a swarm of crocodiles in River Jordan.
