Kiplombe ward in Turbo constituency of Uasin Gishu county boosts of a Member of County Assembly (MCA) who unlike many of his colleagues, he was elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.
This being the home turf of the Deputy President Dr William Ruto and the Jubilee government’s stronghold, it was not a walk in the park for the MCA Ramadhan Ali alias 'Ramah' who has been the MCA for the last two terms.
Residents say that his development record is commendable.
Water shortage has been a big challenge across Kiplombe ward and Ramadhan has set up wells, boreholes and dams to help his people access the basic commodity: for instance, he championed the construction of boreholes in Kapchumba primary school and set up another one near Kambi Thomas area and the boreholes have really helped a lot.
The MCA is one of a kind. He managed to be elected despite vying on a party that has no popularity in this region.
His zeal for development programs, a desire to serve the people diligently and work with all stakeholders regardless of their political ambitions are key instruments that make the people of Kiplombe trust him.
He has ensured that bursaries are distributed without bias and always goes on the ground to feel what the people are going through.
