Renowned lawyer and socio-political commentator, Ahmednasir Abdullahi who has represented President Uhuru Kenyatta in a flurry of high-profile cases, on Wednesday reacted to the blindsiding arrest of former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
The reaction was quite terse but loaded.
"FINALY..." He posted on his Twitter feed with a link to an article with the story of the arrest, implying some sort of relief at the development.
The lawyer has been quite critical of Governor Mike Sonko's predecessor over his questionable running of City Hall.
Kidero was forced to spend the night behind bars at the EACC Police Station after being arrested for the embezzlement 7.8 billion shillings in public funds.
He maintains that he is innocent and that the charges pressed against him are politically motivated.
The former Mumias Sugar Company supremo was set to be arraigned in court Thursday.
Kidero lost his 2017 re-election bid to Mike Sonko.
