The controversial county boss, who is also facing murder charges, was arrested from Hilton Hotel when he tried to escape from the police.

And his lawyer Cliff Ombeta said the county boss had to wait for him before recording statement on the alleged possession of illegal firearms.

"They were harassing him to record a statement yet they know you can't force someone to do it. Police are turning out to be violators of the rule of law.

"He had to wait for me and that's why they took him to Special Crimes Prevention Unit as they waited for lawyers to come," he said.

After brief consultation with Ombeta, Obado was driven to DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road where he recorded a statement.

According to him, five guns that were recovered at his Nairobi home belongs to his AP officers while one of the pistol recovered from Migori belongs to Caspal Obiero, his aide who is facing murder charges at Industrial Area prison.

Another one was reportedly recovered from a thug who invaded his home while his bodyguard had placed also his gun at his house.

Mr Obado will appear in court on Friday to know his fate even as he was sent back to Gigiri police station, a familiar environment to him though.
