At the beginning of the year, Senator Kipchumba Murkomem, through his twitter, had a new year resolution of reading 12 books and publishing 3 journal articles.
True to his word, the Senate Majority leader posted on twitter he has started with the book Raila Odinga by Sarah Elderkin.
"Let me start the month with this one. Miguna’s mask can wait. I need to know the Flame of Freedom behind such matters as the expulsion of my colleagues Aisha and Dori!," posted the Elgeyo Senator.
Outspoken lawyer Miguna was quick to respond claiming both his book and the one the senator is reading are outdated as he was expecting him to have read them 5 years ago.
"Shame on you, @kipmurkomen. As an advocate and a purported scholar, you ought to have read both books when they were published more than 5 years ago. I remember cautioning you against such irrational exuberance on @ntvkenya. Now, @UKenyatta has thrown you and Ruto to the sharks!" said Miguna on twitter.
A serious argument then ensued.
"Is it your considered opinion that both books have lost relevance? Is it possible that they were campaign materials? I would have assumed that they were written to dispense wisdom for all ages but I stand guided!" replied Murkomen.
Lawyer Miguna hit back at the senator claiming he(Senator Murkomen) cannot claim the relevance of a book he has not read yet. This escalated, even more, when Miguna cast doubt on literacy of Kenyan Lawyers.
"I'm not sure the majority of Kenyan lawyers are even literate. Ahmednasir, for example, isn't literate. Kipkorir flaunts his looted wealth as a sign of enlightenment. Kipchumba boasts of flying in choppers and plunder of public resources as a sign of "success." A hopeless bunch!" claimed Miguna Miguna.
