China's Beijing Renhe and Kenyan winger Ayub Timbe underwent successful knee surgery on Monday in Belgium and will be out for 3 months as he recuperates from the surgeon's blade.
"I had successful knee surgery and I need a couple of weeks to recover. I will be back soon and stronger than ever," wrote Ayub on his Facebook account.
This means the 26-year-old, right winger, will miss Harambee Stars' final round of the 2019 AFCON Group F qualifiers match against Ghana, slated for 22nd of March in Accra.
Ayub Timbe picked a double injury on his shoulder and knee on 2nd September, last year, when Beijing Renhe beat Dalian Yifang 2 - 0 in the Chinese Super League match.
Having scored 7 goals for Rehne as a forward in 14 appearances, Ayub is confident and upbeat to return to the Harambee Stars team.
He was suspended for three matches by CAF, and injury woes added to his troubles, meaning he was left out by coach Sebastien Migne during the last matches of the qualifiers.
