The two were found guilty by Powers and Privileges Committee and were temporarily thrown out of chambers before being readmitted after apologising formally.

But in his apology, Owino claimed that he did not intentionally slap Jaguar, adding that the latter's cheeks had moved to his hands.

"I would like to apologize and say that on that day, I did not slap Hon. Jaguar, it is his cheeks that moved towards my hands," he argued.

But speaker Justin Muturi could hear none of that, forcing Mr Owino to redo the apology, which was gladly taken by fellow parliamentarians.

"I apologize to what happened between us. We are nowdays working together as a team and this is the spirit we want," he said.

The two differed on October 26 presidential elections in which President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared winner much to the fury of Owino before going physical.

Jaguar, a renowned musician is a staunch supporter of Uhuru while Owino is a close ally of Raila Odinga.

With the two protagonists agreeing to work together in March this year, Owino has since reconciled with the president in the spirit of handshake.

Jaguar said: "I apologize to what happened. We have since learnt how to work along as elected representatives of people."
