Keter claimed the two played their part in looting the country and should not be taken as of a certain community.

Through his official Facebook account, the vocal MP who recently survived an election petition further said Education  Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang and the Kenya Pipeline director Joe Sang should also be brought to book.

"Finally we are truly fighting corruption. The arrest of top KPLC directors led by Ben Chumo and Ken Tarus is a step in the right direction. I support the president in this new commitment to fight graft. Those officers did not steal on behalf of our community. Let them carry their own cross. We are waiting to see the likes of Joe Sang of Kenya Pipeline and Kipsang Belio of the ministry of education face the law," read Alfred Keter's facebook post.

DPP Noordin Haji had ordered their arrest including all other management of Kenya Power and Lighting Company for the corruption-related offence.

"Upon review, I have established criminal culpability against KPLC management, employees, the directors of the firms or the entities involved,” stated Haji.

CEO Ken Tarus, his predecessor, Ben Chumo, and the other executives pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were arraigned in court on Monday.

Those charged alongside Chumo and Tarus include Beatrice Meso, K.P.Mungai, Joshua Mutua, Abubakar Swaleh, Samuel Ndirangu, Stanley Mutwiri, Benson Murithi, Peter Mwicigi, John Ombui and James Njenga Mungai — the Director of Muwa Trading Company, which was allegedly supplied the transformers.
