Lawyer Miguna Miguna’s statement that opposition leader Raila Odinga won the August 8, 2017, presidential election has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV's JKL show on Wednesday, Miguna argued that he saw how the 2017 polls were conducted and 'knew that Raila won the election'.
The outspoken lawyer further called for an audit of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers, noting that scrutiny of the servers will back his claims.
“I saw how the elections were conducted and I knew he (Raila) won and if anyone wants to challenge me as to why I say so let them open the IEBC servers, let’s audit it,” said Miguna.
The remarks sparked a debate online, with a section of Kenyans agreeing with the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general and others arguing that President Uhuru Kenyatta won the polls fairly.
Here are some of the reactions.
