Samuel Omwando, the former MP hopeful in Kitutu Chache South, said Lenolkulal could have been locked behind the bars.

"Lenolkulal is a corrupt individual who the court could have detained in custody until the case is heard and determined. His release is likely to interfere with the case," he said.

The vocal politician argued that Lenolkulal should be sent to jail to serve as example to governors who are stealing public funds.

"The governor is one of the county bosses engaging in dubious dealings to accumulate wealth for their families yet the electorates who woke up early in the cold morning to vote for them are suffering. I'm appealing to the court to ensure the governor is sent to jail without favor," he added.

He insisted that any leader associated with Deputy President William Ruto is corrupt.

"Lenolkulal was spotted on Sunday with DP Ruto attending a church service in Kiambu. I'm sure he was trying to persuade his master to rescue him in vain," said Omwando.
