Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo has waded into the ongoing debate over a high number of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and Managing Directors (MDs) from one community facing graft charges.
This is after a section of legislators from the Rift Valley claimed the fight against corruption was unfairly targeting the Kalenjin community.
In a tweet on Sunday, Amollo, an Orange Democratic Movement (MP) said the fact that many CEOs from one community are facing corruption charges is a clear indication on how there is unfair job distribution in the Jubilee government.
“That Many Kalenjins CEOs are facing graft charges is not Ethnic Targeting, It Testament to how UNFAIRLY the distribution of these Plum Positions have been, otherwise we’ed be seeing Equal Opportunity Prosecutions across the 43 Tribes!” tweeted the MP.
This comes even as a section of North Rift legislators led by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargey cautioned the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji against selective prosecution of top parastatal managers implicated in graft.
Currently, there are over 10 CEOs and MDs from the Kalenjin community facing various graft-related charges.
