The race for the 2022 general election continue to take shape across the political divide as politicians across the divide put in place strategies for their favorite seats.
Both sitting and former politicians are lobbying for support even with two and half years left to the anticipated 2022 general election.
As the 2022 debate takes center stage, here are 2017 'political losers' in Western Kenya who could make a surprise comeback in the 2022 general election.
1. Ababu Namwamba
The former Budalangi MP lost re-election in the 2017 election after ditching the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Namwamba who is the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Administrative Secretary (CAS) could make a return in 2022.
There is talk that Namwamba could bid for the Busia governor seat in 2022.
2. Boni Khalwale.
The former Senator lost bid for the Kakamega governor seat in 2017 election.
He has exuded confidence of clinching the governor seat in 2022 election and promised world class services to the people should he be elected.
3. Moses Akaranga
He lost re-election for the Vihiga Governor seat in 2017 election to Wilberforce Otichillo.
Akaranga is likely to make an attempt for the seat in the 2022 general election.
It is a matter of time before we know whether these politicians will indeed make a comeback in the much anticipated 2022 general election.
