Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama is yet off the hook after a section of youths protested county’s proposal to allocate Sh19 million for the purchase of land purposely for the construction of County speaker and Governor’s residences.
The youths led by Caleb Motari claimed that Nyagarama’s administration should stop misusing public funds.
“Sh19 million should be used improve the health facilities in the county and pay orphans’ school fees instead of the money ending into people’s pockets," he said.
According to the youths, setting aside the funds for the aforementioned purpose will pave way for corruption.
“EACC should grill the governor and speaker Moffat Teya over the same and ensure no funds will be wasted.
"As youths from Nyamira County will not sit and watch leaders looting public money which should be used for initiation of various development projects which are beneficial to the public,” he noted.
