African Union High Representative on Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga on Thursday held a meeting with Ethiopian Ambassador to Kenya, Meles Alem at Capitol Hill Square.

The former Prime Minister revealed that the two discussed a number of issues including infrastructure among others. 

“Held talks with the Ethiopian Ambassador to Kenya, Meles Alem at Capitol Hill Square that focused on Infrastructure and other regional issues of mutual interest,” he tweeted.

Alem was appointed Ethiopia's envoy to Kenya early this year.

Prior to his appointment, the University of Nairobi alumni served as the head of diaspora affairs at the Ethiopian embassy in Nairobi.

Raila’s meeting with the Ethiopian envoy comes at a time when President Kenyatta is in Mauritius for a state visit.

President Kenyatta's tour has seen Mauritius lift a ban on several Kenyan farm produce after the two countries signed agreements to enhance trade ties existent between.

Uhuru met Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth for talks, and later revealed that the tour had borne fruits. 

“Both countries can benefit from the proximity of each other to foster closer cooperation across many areas. I welcome the conclusion and signing of agreements in six areas during this state visit,” the President said.
