Throughout her tenure in IEBC as a , Rosslyn Akombe was in many occasions labeled a NASA sympathiser by Jubilee affiliated leaders.
In fact, at one one in at interview with Citizen TV, she was forced to defend the allegations further elaborating her full names in a move meant to clear doubts that she was a Luo due to her surname.
"This country never appreciates good idea. My name is Roselyne Kwamboka Akombe," she said tactically using the middle name that is synonymous with Abagusii community.
In his The Failed Quest for Electoral Justice, journalist John Onyando gives a tip on the Nyamira born commssioner's political affiliation.
While she generally seemed to be impartial during her assignment at the electoral agency, Akombe was one time chief critic of Raila Odinga.
"I first knew Akombe in mid 2000s when I travelled to US for the first time.
"She was very active in Google and Yahoo groups. She was one of Raila's fierce critic in all her interactions and I don't believe she could support Raila," he says.
As pressure mounted of IEBC to conduct credible elections after nullification of August results, Akombe came out strongly as the voice of the commission.
With her stand on need to conduct credible polls, she fled the country and resigned in the US, unearthing partisanship in the commission.
She was born in Nyamira and studied at Nyabururu Girls and University of Nairobi before flying out of the country.
Jubilee MPs especially Kipchumba Murkomen, openly associated her with oppostion coalition NASA besides being accused of leaking delicate information to the Raila Odinga team.
