Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament Richard Onyonka now says that he left Deputy President William Ruto's camp because of his defiance and inability to listen.
The Ford Kenya lawmaker recently reunited with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga, after months of dalliance with the DP who is eyeing the presidency.
In an interview on Monday morning, the MP said that he was forced to leave Ruto's camp, because of his (Ruto) unwillingness to listen to what he is being told by people close to him.
He claimed that he has been among the people who have called upon Ruto to honour President Uhuru Kenyatta's calls against early politicking, calls Ruto has defiantly turned down.
"I told him (DP Ruto) if the President tells you to slow down you slow down but he never listens and that is why I left him," he said on NTV's AM Live show.
This comes only a day after Uhuru lashed out at a group of Mt Kenya leaders who have been campaigning for Ruto, vowing to put them in their place should they remain defiant.
Uhuru has repeatedly called for political calm, urging politicians to shelve the 2022 debate and concentrate on service delivery, calls that have had no effect in Ruto's camp.
