According to political analyst Peter Mukolwe, anything can happen in politics.

On how Jubilee was planning to retain power in 2022 and beyond, Mukolwe claimed that there was a possibility that President Uhuru might accept 'demotion' to become DP Ruto's running-mate.

This, he said, was the surest way for Jubilee to retain the Kikuyu and Kalenjin votes.

"Politics is a dirty game full of surprises. It will not be shocking to see Uhuru become Ruto's running mate in 2022. If this comes to reality, then the Raila and his team should just forget about 2022," he said.

Mukolwe was speaking during a breakfast show at Iftiin FM.

Going by the analyst's opinion, it is true that the opposition might have an uphill task removing the duo from apex political office given the power of numbers in their respective backyards.

On the influence of Uhuru-Raila handshake in 2022, the analyst claimed that it does not bear any meaningful impact come the next general elections.

"Handshake is null and void. Believe you me it has nothing to do about 2022 presidential elections," he said with finality.
