Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has dismissed claims that Deputy President William Ruto has a capacity to lobby for Raila to get a job.
At a Prayer Breakfast meeting on Thursday, Dr Ruto thrilled his audience when he jokingly said that he would send Raila Odinga's CV to Britain for PM job consideration.
“We have a retired one in Kenya and since the Constitution has abolished that position in Kenya, and he may not have it anytime soon, we will send you his CV, maybe you can consider him," he said as quoted by the Nation.
Dr Ruto and Mr Odinga have been at loggerheads, and have often gone ballistic against each other in political and social gatherings across the country.
But Mr Sifuna, in a statement, said it's Mr Odinga with capacity to lobby for a job for Ruto, reciting the grand coalition government where the DP was brought on board by Raila as Agriculture minister.
"Our young people require jobs, even as the DP obsesses with "offering" the Rt Hon Odinga jobs at every turn. This is laughable though because we all know who has capacity to find employment for the other.
"Kenyans know that it is Raila Odinga who gave Ruto a job as a minister in the grand coalition government, a job from which he was sacked due to rampant corruption," charged Sifuna.
The two political bigwigs are expected to face off in 2022 presidential polls, even though Mr Odinga is yet to announce his bid formally.
