Millicent Omanga, a Jubilee party nominated senator, has claimed that Malindi MP Hon Aisha Jumwa's expulsion from ODM party is a witch-hunt against women in politics.
Omanga said ODM party expelled the MP on flimsy grounds, despite her explanation in the disciplinary meetings before.
"ODM party's decision to expel Jumwa is witch-hunt and unfair treatment of women. Her expulsion from ODM is unfortunate and punctures the credibility of ODM as a party," she said.
According to her, there is no democracy in ODM because women are being taken for granted.
"We must call ODM's bluff for unfairly targeting Aisha and going a step further to expel her on very flimsy grounds because of her fast-rising in leadership," she added.
She wondered why Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori was not expelled from the party even after he declared support for DP Ruto.
"It's unbelievable that even though another ODM MP Suleiman Dori faced similar accusations, he was spared the axe. Isn't this witch-hunt and unfair treatment of women? It's abhorrent and unacceptable. I encourage my sister Aisha to fight it all away and shame her detractors. As for ODM and its owners, stop this hypocrisy! It stinks," she added.
