Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday hosted several members of the clergy at his Karen home.
At the event, leaders from the African Divine Church (ADC) drawn from across the country delivered a gift for the deputy president.
Ruto admitted he had forever longed to have one of the church's spiritual hats that he called a gift from the leaders.
He went into a dance with the leaders while donned in their signature head-wraps and hats that bear white, green and red colours. It was drums, dance and praise songs for several minutes with the clergymen surrounding DP Ruto.
In one of the tunes, the leaders sang seeking spiritual intervention for being 'distracted' by enemies whenever they were doing their work;
"Nikifanya kaziii.. maadui wengi wananisumbua.." (When I work and pray, enemies, give me a hard time,) they sang in the video.
"Bishop amesema ni kirauni ya kanisa. Hii ni nzuri sana kwa sababu nimekua nikitamani sana niwe na kirauni ya Divine. Maombi yangu imejibiwa. Nimefurahi sana mmenipa kofia hii nijiunge nanyi na niwe mmoja wenu. (This is good and I am very happy to have received this (the hat) from your. My prayer has been answered. I will now join and be part of you,) stated DP Ruto.
He made the remarks moments after singing and dancing with the ADC clergymen.
The leaders had been invited to Karen to receive a certificate for a Sacco they had formed under the Africa Divine church.
The Church's Sacco is one of the empowerment drives initiated by DP Ruto.
In his address at the event, DP Ruto noted that Saccos were one of the ways the faithful can mobilize local resources and access credit services for their personal development and support for the church.
He said at least Sh500 billion had been collected by Saccos in Kenya.
