Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has over the last one week taken over as President Uhuru Kenyatta's leading critic, taking the president head-on on matters corruption.
Though Sudi has been purporting to be calling for a more reasonable anti-graft campaign, a closer look will indicate that he has one more card hidden under the table.
As it is common among politicians, whatever he is doing is very likely to be aimed at benefiting himself first before going out to others and the nation.
The MP is most likely out to portray himself as a bull by taking the Head of State on, hoping for some sort of repayment from fellow politicians and the voters.
He is trying to endear himself to the public and get more popular as he hopes to make a bigger achievement in the future political elections where he might go for a bigger seat.
At the same time, since the fight directly touches on Deputy President William Ruto who is seeking the presidency, the plan could be to impress the DP. Therefore, he is hoping that his vocality and bravery will be repaid when Ruto finally comes to power through special consideration and probably a top state job or responsibility.
It could also be a plan to outdo other Rift Valley leaders who are currently appearing closer to the DP and most likely to take over from him as the Rift Valley political kingpin.
The plan is to show his bravery and convince the people that he can lead them and come out as a leader capable of standing with his idea at whatever cost.
