Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has taken a swipe at Central Organisation of Trade Union Secretary General Francis Atwoli for claiming that Deputy President William Ruto's name will not be on the presidential ballot in 2022 general election.
While laughing off Atwoli's claim, Nyoro said that the trade unionist is not God to determine Ruto's political future.
The youthful MP stated that Atwoli knows nothing about politics and should shut up.
Speaking on KTN's Check-Point on Sunday night, Nyoro claimed that Atwoli is a sycophant serving the interests of selfish individuals.
"Atwoli should respect himself if he wants to be respected and know that he has no say on who will take power in the 2022 general election," he said.
Nyoro accused Atwoli of seeking to cause divisions in the country and asked the Director of Criminal Investigation to probe him.
The Kiharu lawmaker urged Kenyans to ignore Atwoli's remark terming it misplaced and irrelevant and called on Kenyans to remain united and shun politicians who are pushing for their own selfish interests.
Atwoli's remark has elicited sharp reactions from Ruto's allies who say he should be held accountable should anything happen to DP Ruto between now and 2022.
The COTU boss is a strong critic of DP Ruto and has accused him of allegedly disrespecting his elders.
Atwoli says that Ruto has continued to disrespect opposition leader Raila Odinga by calling him 'mganga' (witch).
