In a tweet, Murkomen said that women MPs number has been retained, adding that only male lawmakers have been affected.

He went on to remind them of the need to embrace the proposals of Presidential candidate Ekuro Aukot.

“Why are Women MPs unhappy with Punguza Mzigo yet @EAukothas retained 47 Women Reps in N/A and reduced Men Reps to only 47? The proposed Women Senators up to 47 @EstherPassaris@WahomeHon@susankihika@MarthaKarua,” he tweeted.

On Saturday, the lawmaker said that members of the County assembly will definitely back the proposals because they seek to empower them.

He noted that MCAs can take advantage of the Bill to stamp their authority in the leadership and management of affairs of the county.

He also noted that the authority of the MCAs makes them the team to watch in the push for a referendum.

“MCAs have the greatest opportunity to stamp their authority by supporting @EAukot‘s Punguza Mzigo initiative. MCAs have been despised for far too long. They should approve it overwhelmingly to remind all&sundry that devolution &its institutions matter. Forward the baby to Senate," he tweeted.
