President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday signed the Finance Bill 2018 into law. This is after the Bill was passed by MPs on Thursday in a sitting that was marred with a lot of chaos.
Speaking this morning at the State House, the head of state assured Kenyans that he will not back down on his war against impunity and corruption in the country.
“I give my commitment that I will ensure proper utilization of public resources for a better Kenya,” said the President.
Signing the Finance Bill 2018 into law means residents will have dig deep into their pockets for certain things. Some of the services that Kenyans will pay more include; airtime and data services while employed workers to be charged 1.5 per cent of their earnings among others.
Kenyans have reacted differently to President Kenyatta’s tweet on signing the Finance Bill 2018 into law.
“I have signed into law the Finance Bill 2018. I give my commitment that I will ensure proper utilisation of public resources for a better Kenya. I will not relent on the war against Corruption. @WilliamsRuto” he posted on his official twitter account.
