Nairobi politician Miguna Miguna has criticised President Uhuru Kenyatta's move to block renowned blogger on Twitter.
The Head of State on Saturday obstructed Lord Abraham Mutai from accessing his social media platform under unclear circumstances.
The blogger, who is famous for writing posts that attract a lot of retweets, protested Uhuru's move saying it was a case of mistaken identity.
"President @UKenyatta I know someone thinks I deserve this but I think you're going after the wrong person. Am one of your biggest supporters currently. And as your supporter I can only speak the reality that we face as a country as some of your advisors have failed you," he posted.
Mutai, who describes himself as 'a militant in the pursuit of highest enlightenment and violent thinker', threatened to contact a lawyer over the issue.
"This is completely UNACCEPTABLE and a clear show of intolerance to criticism and it is in itself discriminatory. It is also UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I'm speaking to a lawyer right away," the blogger stated.
In a quick response, Miguna, who has practiced as a barrister in Canada for over a decade, noted it was illegal for President Uhuru, who is holding a public office, to block a citizen.
"Private individuals can block each other but anyone who occupies public office - legitimately or illegitimately - and Tweets as such does not have any legal basis or excuse to block a citizen of the country they (mis)govern. Fight tyrants. Freedom or death!" the former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate tweeted.
