Days after he attacked President Uhuru Kenyatta, a Member of Parliament allied to the opposition has hit out at Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi.
Speaking in Uasin Gishu on Saturday, Sudi accused Uhuru of playing a role in the many implications of Deputy President William Ruto in corruption scandals.
But in rejoinder on Tuesday, Alego Usonga lawmaker Samuel Atandi blamed the remarks on Sudi's alleged low education credentials, terming him an academic dwarf.
He faulted the vocal MP for making such allegations against the president, revealing a plan to ensure that only people with university degrees are allowed in parliament after the 2022 polls to block uneducated members.
"This is what happens when you have uneducated people in parliament and we will bring strict measures to ensure that such people are not allowed in parliament going forward," he said.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) parliamentarian was speaking in an interview on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show Tuesday morning.
"We want to establish a law that will dictate that only degree holders can be elected as Members of Parliament to avoid people with poor thinking in the house. We will ensure that the likes of Sudi don't make it back in 2022" he added.
Sudi has been battling allegations of presenting fake papers since he came to office in 2013 but has repeatedly insisted that his education level cannot affect his leadership.
The close ally of Depuy President Wiliam Ruto also claimed that the ongoing war against graft is a plot to scuttle DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, hence the reason why he was never branded corrupt earlier.
