Siaya Senator James Orengo celebrated his 68th birthday in parliament chambers of Thursday with a number of legislators visiting him at his offices.
Busia Women Representative Florence Mutua, who was in charge of the brief ceremony, hailed Senator Orengo's mastery of the law, wishing him long life.
"Happy Birthday Hon Senator Orengo the walking Constitution," she said in reference to Mr Orengo's victories at various courts throughout his career as a lawyer and Senior Counsel.
She added: "You are held in high regard; wishing you good health, long life and prosperity all the way Sir. Cheers."
Besides his diligence in legal matters, Orengo is an accomplished politician having sat in parliament for 24 years.
The former University of Nairobi Student Union leader was first elected in 1979 in a by-election but would go for exile in Tanzania due to his tackles on President Daniel Moi in 1983.
In 1990, Mr Orengo joined pro-democracy forces and managed to successfully Reappeal Section 2A of the old constitution, which paved way for pluralism in Kenya.
He served on Ford Kenya ticket until 2002 when he lost the Ugenya seat for going against Mr Raila Odinga.
After rejoining Odinga in 2007, Orengo was elected as Ugenya MP and later Siaya senator.
