Professor Kivutha Kibwana is among the few governors who have fully embraced devolution in their respective counties.
As a county boss, he sees devolution as one of the better ways to reach out to people in rural areas.
Kibwana who is serving his second and final term in office believes that devolution has transformed most Kenyans' living standards.
He says devolution is a success to various counties.
The Makueni governor, who is among the delegates attending the 2019 Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga, says Kenyans should celebrate more on devolution as it has made many counties develop in several sectors since the 2010 Constitution's promulgation.
“There is a lot to celebrate in every county in terms of entrenching devolution. New innovations are evidently visible and driving growth of the cottage industry”
President Uhuru Kenyatta has also expressed his confidence in devolution stating that it has adversely transformed Kenyans' lives.
Kenyatta who spoke after inspecting several exhibitions by various county governments in the ongoing 2019 Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga County said different economic sectors have improved, an indication that devolution is working.
The Devolution Conference is an annual event organized by the Council of Governors (COG).
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has also hailed devolution revealing on how peoples living standards have improved in the county.
