The developing story on the formation of two political parties by politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto has taken a new twist.
This is after Soy MP Caleb Kositany on Wednesday came out to address the issue which has received huge publicity from the media.
Speaking to the Standard, Kositany, who a local newspaper reported was behind the registration of the new outfits, dismissed the claims and added that there were no cracks in the Jubilee to necessitate creation of a new party.
"I am totally unaware of any formation of a political party. I have only seen the claims in the media. I am Jubilee's Deputy Secretary General and we have a good working relationship in the coalition," he said.
Kositany, alongside his colleagues Oscar Sudi (Kapsaret), Cornelly Serem (Aldai) and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei were reported to have registered new party to be used by Ruto in the 2022 elections.
Cherargei told the Nation that the move was informed by the realization of the existence of 'powerful people' in President Uhuru Kenyatta's party planning to sabotage the DP's bid.
"We are thinking of a new vehicle ahead of 2022. We cannot work with saboteurs, we cannot work with those who think they can block DP's 2022 bid. We can't work with our enemies," the Senator said.
