50-year old Frederick Abiero was found lifeless on the road in Holo Market on Sunday, after reportedly leaving his house for a nearby pub late on Saturday.

According to neighbors, Abiero came home at around 10 in the evening before leaving in the company of a bar attender of a local pub.

Reports indicate that he spent the rest of his time watching soccer in the pub until late in the night.

Confirming the incident, County Police Commissioner Job Boronjo blamed the same on rising insecurity in the area, adding that the two were attacked after leaving the drinking joint.

He added that the deceased was most likely hit by a blunt object, resulting to his death, adding that his associate raised alarm when they were attacked but was already killed by the time help arrived.

“The woman screamed as she ran away, raising the alarm. Later, when people gathered, they discovered the man's body lying on the road. Injuries at the back of his head show he could have been hit with a blunt object,” he said as quoted by Standard.

This comes at a time when residents of the area have raised alarm over rising insecurity, with the blame landing on suspicious groups of youths.

“People get murdered almost every two months. Youths are always walking around at night; we don't know what they are looking for,” Wylkisa Olule, a resident of Holo is quoted by the paper.
