Supreme Court President David Kenani Maraga has warned Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji against dragging the Judiciary into corruption.
Maraga said the Judiciary is committed to ensure those involved in corruption are prosecuted and stolen public resources be recovered.
"The Judiciary is not a barrier int the war against corruption as a section of leaders who are lazy are claiming. The Judiciary is working closely with other government agencies to end impunity such as corruption in the country," said the Chief Justice.
He wondered why some leaders are blaming the judiciary for releasing corrupt suspects on bond saying the judiciary won't go against the law by refusing to free suspects on bond.
"Releasing corrupt suspects on bond doesn't mean Justice will be defeated. There are law procedures being followed before an individual is released from custody but, the case remains in court until it is heard and determined," he noted.
Maraga reiterated that Kenyans should have trust in the Judiciary.
"Kenyans need to believe in the Judiciary since corrupt cases before the courts are being handled without favor or fear. Cartels who think the Judiciary will favor them are day dreamers," added.
