Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has distanced himself from the Jubilee government.
Speaking in an interview on Radio Maisha's 'Bunge La Maisha' Tuesday morning, the lawmaker said that he should not be linked to the government.
He maintained that he remains solely a legislator, despite having been elected on the ruling Jubilee Party ticket in the previous 2017 elections.
"Mimi siko kwa serikali, mimi ni mjumbe wa Bahati (I am not in government, I am the lawmaker for Bahati)," he insisted.
He accused Uhuru's team of poor services, claiming that it has abandoned its responsibilities and is instead concentrating on political witch hunt.
"Serikali inakimbizana na witch hunt za kisiasa badala ya kufanya kazi (the government has abandoned its roles for political witch hunt)," he added.
This comes barely a month after Ngunjiri launched a scathing attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta over his latest political moves.
Speaking earlier in the month, Ngunjiri accused Uhuru of reneging on his promise to his deputy William Ruto and his 2022 presidential bid
This led to an exchange between him and the President through the media, where Uhuru called the parliamentarian a 'Mshenzi' (idiot).
In response, Ngunjiri rallied his supporters and staged a demonstration on the streets of Nakuru and told off the President.
He maintained that he will stand with Ruto and his presidential plans.
