The Department of Health Services in Mombasa held a (follow-up) meeting with Mombasa County malaria stakeholders to assess the situational analysis of the vice and come up with further interventions.
The County Public Health Chief Officer Aisha Abubakar said Mombasa County has recorded remarkable decline in confirmed malaria cases over the last four years after the County Government implemented several interventions implemented such as; fogging in different areas of the county, mass distribution of mosquito nets, sensitization and public awareness creation through barazas, and community dialogues, increased coordination of malaria activities (internal and external), increased surveillance and case management diagnosis and treatment.
