Talking about beauty while covering the hair with a hijab, Miss Tourism Wajir County, Shamsa Noor Abdi will never go wrong.
Through the guidance of Miss Curvaceous Eldoret Faith Merab, Noor emerged number six in the just concluded Miss Kenya Tourism pageantry.
Here are some of the interesting things you did not know about her:
Firstly, Shamsa Noor will never get on stage without putting on her hijab. According to the beauty queen, putting on the hijab is not only her achievement but it is also her signature which she is using to change the stereotype that people have towards her community.
“Let us just say this is my signature, I just want people to change the stereotype they have and to be the pacesetter to my community,” said Noor.

Another interesting thing that people think is weird and funny in that Shamsa is afraid of darkness. She narrates the day light went off while she was in the lift and all she could do was to scream.
“Lol…Darkness, I remember there is this time I was in a lift and lights went off, I had to scream though I knew that nobody could hear me,” she narrated.

After the Miss Tourism Kenya event, men have not been easy on her. And since she is single, Noor has been receiving much attention of men and even her social media platforms are crowded.

Given an opportunity, Shamsa would like to change the deep-rooted politics in the Kenyan modelling industry and give every model an equal opportunity without biases.

Lastly, the worst experience that she faces is the dislike that people show towards her dressing code. However, she has not been discouraged because she uses her dressing code as an opportunity.
