Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Friday visited parts of Migori County, where he presided over a series of development initiatives.
Accompanied by among others, Suna East lawmaker Junet Mohammed, the African Union Infrastructure envoy presided over the groundbreaking of Nyakweri Girls' Secondary School in Nyatike.
He also visited the Lower Kuja Irrigation Scheme which is currently undergoing expansion and rehabilitation, launched a road project in Nyakweri and completed his tour with a rally in Lwala Rabor.
"During today's tour in Migori County, we visited the Lower Kuja Irrigation Scheme which is being rehabilitated and expanded, launched the Masara-Sori Road at Nyakweri Centre.
"Presided over the groundbreaking of Nyakweri Girls Secondary School and thereafter addressed residents at Lwala Rabor. I thank the people of Nyatike for their great welcome," he wrote on Facebook.
Other leaders who accompanied the former Prime Minister included Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo and his Ugunja counterpart Opiyo Wandayi.
Also present were Elisha Odhiambo of Gem, Jared Okello (Nyando) and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
This becomes Raila's second public appearance in Nyanza after his flopped promise that together with President Uhuru Kenyatta, they would launch the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) to Kisumu from Naivasha in Nakuru county.
