Though Raila himself has kept off  debate on 2022 politics, his lieutenants are seemingly keen to see him in the Presidential ballot come the next poll.

While speaking in Kisumu's Seme sub-county on Saturday during the funeral of Mama Mary Oliech, the mother to Kenya football legend Dennis Oliech, Aladwa said that Raila remains ODM's presidential candidate until further communication is made over the matter.

"As far as we are concerned, Mr. Odinga is still our choice for president in 2022," said the firebrand former Nairobi Mayor.

Since his March 9 handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, the future of the former Premier in Kenyan politics remains a subject  of debate. And for the ODM leader himself who has opted to play his cards close to his chest, his supporters and rivals alike continue  to remain the dark.

Will he finally hang his political boots? Well, time will tell.
