Speaking on Wednesday, the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) boss said that he does not want to be involved in any politicking for now, to give room for service delivery.

He added that he would as well like to distinguish himself from the political groupings already engaging in the 2022 debate, these being the Tangatanga and Kieleweke blocs.

Therefore, he said, he is not in a hurry to declare interest in any position for now, but will do the same at the right moment.

"Nikisema nitawania kiti fulani sasa nami nitakuwa nimeanza kueleweka na kutangatanga (by declaring interest in a specific seat I will be taking sides with Kieleweke and Tangatanga)," he said.

Rutto was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night, also attended by his Kiambu counterpart William Kabogo.

The former Council of Governors Chairman, however, urged Kenyans to join his party, terming it the only solution to the many unending national challenges.

He said that its only through CCM that Kenyans can push the state into realizing its campaign promises, including the millions of job openings promised by the Jubilee government.

"Kwa sasa tusukume serikali ishughulikie wakenya. Vijana hawana kazi maana serikali inaimport kazi kwa wachina (for now let's push the government to serve Kenyans. The youth are jobless as the state is importing workforce from China)," he added.

The former county boss lost his seat in the 2017 polls after parting ways with Deputy President William Ruto to join the opposition, leading to his defeat to governor Joyce Laboso.
