Garissa Women Representative Anab Subow has asked the Supreme Court to revoke the ruling on hijabs that gave schools the discretion to decide on their own dress code.
Subow wants the ruling reviewed or revoked on grounds that it discriminates Muslims right to worship.
Speaking at Saka Secondary School in Garissa Town on Tuesday, the MP said the courts cannot dictate how Muslims should practice their religion.
She said that hijab has been part and parcel of Islam and cannot be taken away.
"Hijab is an important element in Islamic religious practice and has been practiced for centuries," she noted.
Subow said that the ruling by the apex court is likely to see Muslim students victimised.
The Garissa Women Rep called on Muslim leaders to come out and push for the review of the ruling.
"We must speak against attempts to discriminate and violate our religious practice as Muslims," she added.
Last week's ruling on hijabs continues to elicit reactions among Muslim leaders and scholars.
Wajir Women Rep Fatuma Gedi has since called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene on the matter.
