Wamatangi said Mburu’s claims are malicious and meant to taint the names of senators sitting in the Public Accounts and Investment committee.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Wednesday, the senator said he has never met Mburu, stating that the businessman is fighting back for being implicated in the land saga.

“Mburu should wait for his turn in court if the investigative agencies fund him culpable and stop tainting our images,” he said.

The Jubilee senator asked the business to provide evidence of bribery and stop running to the media with false information.

On Sunday, Mburu claimed that four senators approached him soliciting for a Sh100 million bribe to write a favourable report on the Sh3.2 billion Ruaraka land saga.

The Nairobi business tycoon claimed that the four senators allegedly acting on behalf of others promised to favour him if he gave out the money.

Mburu said that he did not dish out the bribe since he is innocent.

The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti confirmed receiving the reports saying his office has opened a file.

He said that the named senators will be summoned to respond to the allegations.

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka on Tuesday said that the bribery allegations will be probed and action taken against those found culpable.
