Kidero claims that the president is allegedly using the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to harass him in the name of fighting corruption.

The former Nairobi boss claims that he is a target of harassment and intimidation.

In an interview with a local daily on Sunday, Kidero said that the corruption allegations being levelled against him are pure malice meant to fight him politically and financially.

The former Governor further claims that his political 'enemies' are determined to bring him down.

Kidero says that his Thursday arrest and search of his office and home was meat to intimidate him and his family.

"I am not going to keep quite and allow the government to harass my family in the name of fighting corruption," he said.

Kidero said that he has instructed his lawyers to file suit against the EACC for harassment and intruding into his property.

Kidero was arrested on Thursday by EACC detectives who conducted a10 hour search at his Muthaiga home and office.

The EACC sleuths were allegedly looking for certain documents relating to a case Kidero is facing in court.

In August, Kidero was arrested and charged in court with alleged mismanagement and embezzlement of funds when he served as Nairobi governor.

Kidero was charged along with former Nairobi County Secretary Lillian Ndegwa and others.

Kidero is out on a Sh2 million bail.
