Born and bred in Gathuki-ini village in Kiharu constituency, Muranga constituency, Kiharu lawmaker Ndindi Nyoro made several unsuccessful attempts in business to escape poverty, with only the last one paying off.

In 1997, when he was in class six, the lawmaker started a rabbit rearing business, before using the proceeds to start up a shop inside his mother's house.

The business picked up and a month later he decided to expand the business, opting to open a kiosk outside their home.

He stopped going to school, making his father buy his entire stock for Sh1,000 and ordered him back to school.

He joined Kiambugi Secondary School in 1999, shortly before his father's death and this time transformed himself into a cobbler, before moving to charcoal business in form three and later a second hand clothes seller in Thika to pay his fees.

He then moved to Nairobi in 2004 and joined Kenyatta University in 2005.

In the city he again ventured into business, opening a small hotel which collapsed in the third semester, before venturing into the stock broking business in 2012 armed with Sh150, 000.

He proceeded to win the Kiharu seat in the concluded August 8 general polls on the Jubilee Party ticket.
