Mwingi Central Member of Parliament Gideon Mulyungi on Monday said that the family of the deceased cannot afford to bring the body of their kin back to the country.

"It will be expensive to bring home the body of their beloved and the government should intervene and help to ensure the family bury their son," said Mulyungi.

The legislator also called for investigations to be conducted to establish the cause of the man's death.

According to the MP, Munywoki was a principal at Kaela secondary school before he went to Germany to pursue Masters and Doctorate degree where he later secured a job.

"The cause of his death is still a mystery to us because he was not sick so we plead with the government of Kenya through the ambassadorship of Germany to ensure investigations are conducted and the truth revealed," he added.

The lawmaker further said the state should follow up on the deceased assets in Germany and also his pension.

Mulyungi addressed journalists in Musukini on Monday.
