Michael Oyamo, the Personal Assistant of Migori Governor Okoth Obado, will not be charged at the Homa Bay court as earlier scheduled.
Oyamo has been whisked away to Nairobi by detectives.
Sources privy to top intelligence said there was a threat in charging Oyamo in Homa Bay where groups of residents had started milling around the court.
Oyamo will now be charged before a Nairobi-based court by 2:00 pm.
The ex-military officer was arrested on September 4 after the abduction of Sharon Otieno and Nation journalist Barack Oduor.
He will be facing charges over the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
His boss Governor Okoth Obado also presented himself to detectives after being summoned.
He was grilled at the Kisumu DCI offices.
