The girlfriend who is a fourth-year student at Moi University pursuing a degree course in Linguistics, Media and Communication is reported to have been staying with the man before the Sunday morning argument that is believed to have led to his death.

The deceased, it is reported, knocked on the door of his girlfriend on Sunday morning at around 1:00 a.m but contrary to his expectations, the girlfriend turned him away and gave him his belongings including passports through the window.

According to the neighbours, the caretaker came and took the man away, allegedly to offer him accommodation for the rest of the night. This is the last time the deceased was seen alive, at least by the lady's neighbours account.

Our efforts to talk to the caretaker hit a dead end again as he refused to talk to us. At first, when we approached him, he denied knowledge of the incident and pretended to be the watchman and not the caretaker.

The body of the deceased was found hanging from a pole at the construction site with a rope made from a mosquito net hanging around his neck. Interestingly though is the fact that his feet were still in contact with the ground when the body was found.
