Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria is the latest person to declare his 2022 presidential bid.
The controversial MP says he's determined to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta and also pointed out that Deputy President William Ruto who is also eying the country’s top seat will come after him.
Since the formation of Jubilee coalition in 2013 when The National Alliance party (TNA) joined hands with United Republican Party (URP) and later when the two parties merged to form the current Jubilee party, Kuria has been known as strong a supporter and believer of DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions.
He accompanied the DP to numerous functions including political rallies and fundraisings in his home region; in all these events, Kuria swore to stand by Ruto and single-handedly ensure that the self-proclaimed hustler from Sugoi rises to power.
Residents from the Rift Valley region believed in Kuria's words and had no doubt that he would stand by them when their son will be vying for the presidential seat.
If at all Kuria is serious on his presidential bid, it will mean that he will be competing with DP Ruto whom he had earlier made him believe that he will stand by him.
Moses Kuria's presidential bid in 2022 will, therefore, be a very big betrayal to Riff Valley residents and the DP.
