While responding to his Nyeri town counterpart Ngunjiri Wambugu who had reminded him of the 2007 post-election violence where the Kalenjin and the Agikuyu community were on different sides, Sudi vividly described how he has struggled in life as he was born and raised in a humble background. 

The MP boasts of being a self-made person from selling charcoal to representing his constituents in Parliament.

”I am a self made person with a great history of success. Being born to a peasant farmer; I started selling charcoal, then fruits and grocery, Matatu conductor then graduated to being a Matatu Driver. Thereafter I struggled till I bought a car, became a real estate agent in Eldoret, Nairobi and Mombasa before I became an MP. I have gone through all the struggles in this life and I am not a known extortionist like you,” he posted on his official Facebook page

The youthful politician who spent most of his early life ‘hustling’ around Moi University main campus and Kesses areas has been a key ally of Deputy President William Ruto.
