Twelve ODM MPs have now accused Deputy President William Ruto allies of diverting their attention to Joho after he revealed the plan to block his presidency.

Led by Minority Whip Junet Mohamed, the lawmakers said that the county boss has never been involved in the said business.

While addressing the Press at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday , Junet said that the claims by Nandi Governor Stephen Sang and MPs Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Kimani Ichung’wa (Kikuyu) and Didmus Barasa (Kimilili) were not only lies but ill-motivated.

“We are tired of having to continuously respond to these accusations. The old and tired accusations have been overtaken by events,” read part of their statement.

The leaders also said that those involved in the trafficking of drugs have already been arrested and Joho is not one of them as alleged by the two Rift Valley politicians allied to the second in command.

Junet was accompanied by MPs Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Florence Mutua (Busia), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay), Mishi Mboko (Likoni), Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe) and Sam Atandi of Alego Usonga.

Others who were also present were Caleb Amisi (Saboti), Babu Owino (Embakasi South), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Ken Chonga (Kilifi South), and Kwale Senator Issa Boy Juma.
