The leaders have now claimed that the graft war is meant to frustrate DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

"Ongoing crackdown is a waste of time only meant to tarnish DP Ruto's name ahead of the 2022 polls. Where was the DCI and DPP since 2013? Ruto must remain strong ahead of the 2022 polls," said Steve Arika.

Arika who is a local Jubilee leader warned the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) against fighting corruption based on tribes.

"It is sad that the DCI and DPP are targeting one community in the fight against graft. It is advisable for the relevant authorities to suspend the fake war on graft," he noted.

Tabaka Member of County Assembly (MCA) Daniel Apepo on his part stated that even if the DPP and DCI arrest DP Ruto's allies, Kenyans won't change mind.

"Kenyans are willing to elect DP Ruto in 2022 and nothing is going to change that. Ruto's opponents are using the DPP and DCI to frustrate him," noted the Jubilee elected MCA.
