A 41-year-old man from King'oti area in Matungulu sub-county of Machakos County committed suicide by hanging himself on Friday morning.
The deceased Martin Kilonzo Mulwa hanged himself after his wife left home in the morning.
The incident was confirmed by Matungulu assistant county commissioner James Nyengenye.
"The wife had gone to open their shop and on the way she realised she had forgotten her phone thus going back. On reaching home she found the body of her husband dangling from the rooftop," Said Nyegenye on phone.
He said that the deceased had left a suicide note for his wife with a list of people who owe him money. Also, he had asked his wife to take good care of the family.
Nyengenye said that the reason as to why the man chose to end his life is suspected to be a domestic brawl.
His body was picked by police and taken to Kangundo level four hospital mortuary.
The official said that residents should desist from committing suicide whenever they face life challenges.
He urged them to instead seek professional help when stressed or burdened by thoughts.
