Death has struck Moi University for the third time in a week.
Several hours after a student was found dead in his room at the university's hostel, another student has been reported dead.
A female second-year student pursuing a degree course in English/Literature (School of Education) died on Sunday at around 2:00 pm while receiving treatment at Tophill Hospital in Eldoret.
According to a source who wanted to remain anonymous, the deceased had been suffering from Spinal cord complications for quite some time.
Those who knew her have described the late as a kind and jovial person.
"She was beautiful, jovial and more than a sister to everyone. She was simply the best friend anyone could have," Florence Flochi, one of her close friends and also a second-year student noted.
It is indeed a sad month for Moi University comrades as they mourn the deaths of their colleagues.
The trend of the students dying has left some of the comrades a little bit worried.
"I don't like being superstitious but death is a very rare thing. Therefore when it strikes at such a rate, one cannot help but become a little bit worried," Jonathan Wekesa, a student said.
The school administration has not issued any memo concerning the recent deaths.
